The Project at a Glance

The A5 Western Transport Corridor is one of five key transport corridor upgrades identified in the Regional Transportation Strategy (RTS) for Northern Ireland and represents a significant link in longer-term plans to improve connections between Dublin, the City of Derry and Donegal.

Market Soundings

Northern Ireland’s Roads Service is currently undertaking a large scale investment in the roads infrastructure for the province which includes the development of the 88km A5 Western Transport Corridor. As part of this strategic road improvement programme Roads Service wishes to engage with the supplier community to gain feedback on proposed procurement options.

Questions have been developed to gather market views regarding the procurement of the A5 WTC project. Although aimed primarily at prospective contractors, anyone with an interest in the A5 WTC may respond. We would particularly encourage views from prospective designers and companies that are interested in forming part of the construction supply chain.

Prize Draw

We thank you all greatly for your cooperation with the traffic surveys conducted during May 2008.

We are pleased to have received a large volume of completed questionnaires, but unfortunately processing this information is taking longer than anticipated and we will have to ask for your patience for a little while longer.

The prize draw is expected to go ahead shortly. Winners should be informed by the middle of September 2008.
