SCHEME UPDATE MARCH 2012: ROADS SERVICE RECEIVES INSPECTOR’S REPORT ON A5 SCHEME
Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced receipt of the Inspector’s Report into the proposed A5 dual carriageway. The Public Inquiry into the A5 Western Transport Corridor dual carriageway, one of five key transport corridors identified in the Regional Transportation Strategy, ended on 1 July 2011. The inspectors have carried out follow-up site visits and considered all the evidence from the Inquiry to complete their Report, which will now be considered by the Department for Regional Development’s Roads Service. The Minister said: "My Department’s Roads Service are now considering the Report’s recommendations and hope to publish the Departmental statement, outlining the Department’s position on the Report’s findings and recommendations, in early summer. The Inspector’s Report will also be made available to the public at that time.”

PUBLIC INQUIRIES
Since the Public Inquiries were completed on July 1st 2011, the Inspectors have carried out their follow-up site visits on all sections of the scheme.
The complete set of transcripts for the Public Inquiries are now available for viewing and download. The transcripts are categorized via a specified Inquiry (Strategic, Section 1, Section 2 & Section 3) and then preceded by Day numbers and dates. Where Inspectors have noted potential errors or inaccuracies, these have been noted in the Erratum sheet which precedes each daily transcript.
